Our Mission
"Driving kids to success, one swing at a time."
GOLFING FOR KIDS is a nonprofit organization that introduces children to the game of golf, teaching them valuable life skills such as focus, sportsmanship, and patience. Through structured programs and dedicated instruction, we create an environment where young people can discover their potential while learning one of the world's most respected sports.
Every swing represents more than just technique – it's a step toward building character, developing discipline, and fostering lifelong friendships. Our mission extends beyond the golf course, preparing children for success in all aspects of their lives.
What We Do
Golf Instruction
Professional coaching for beginners through advanced junior players, focusing on proper technique and game fundamentals.
Life Skills Development
Character building through golf's core values: integrity, respect, perseverance, and good sportsmanship.
Community Programs
Outreach initiatives bringing golf to underserved communities and schools throughout the Downey area.
Core Values & Life Skills
Focus & Concentration
Golf requires intense mental focus and attention to detail. Through our programs, children develop concentration skills that translate directly to academic success and personal achievement.
Each shot teaches patience and the importance of preparation, helping young people approach challenges with thoughtfulness and determination.
Sportsmanship & Character
Golf is unique among sports for its emphasis on personal integrity and honor. Players call their own penalties and celebrate opponents' successes.
These values become ingrained habits that shape how children interact with peers, handle disappointment, and celebrate achievements throughout their lives.
